Employer-Sponsored Visas
Common options include Skills in Demand (subclass 482) for temporary stays and Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) for permanent residence. Employers must be approved sponsors and nominate an eligible position.
General steps
- The employer sets up an organisation in ImmiAccount and applies to become a sponsor.
- Nominate the role (usually listed in ANZSCO skilled occupation lists); labour market testing may be required.
- The worker applies for the relevant visa (482/186/494), meeting skills, English, and nomination conditions.
- For permanent pathways (ENS 186), transition from 482 or direct entry with skills assessment may be possible.
